Give your desk a good connection.
A wired Ethernet connection can reduce the variability of Wi-Fi at a fixed workstation. If you use wireless, position the desk within a reliable signal area and avoid working from a weak corner of the home.
Plan around important calls.
Large downloads and cloud backups may compete with a video meeting. Schedule them for quieter periods where possible, and close applications that are using the connection unnecessarily.
Prepare for interruptions.
If your work is time-sensitive, consider an independent backup connection and suitable power backup for your equipment. Confirm what your employer or IT team permits.
Know who to contact.
Keep your customer ID and verified support details handy. If there is an issue, note when it started, which devices are affected and what you have already checked.
